Dr. Niihara is specially trained in the care and comfort of terminally ill patients. Dr. Niihara participates in-patient ‘Plan of Care’, consults on comfort measures, provides support and makes home visits as needed.

Scope of Services
In general, the patient and family can expect the assistance of an interdisciplinary team of experts:
- Physicians provide medical expertise, consultation and patient recertification visits
- Skilled Nurses educate and provide nursing care which includes pain and symptom management. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays
- Social Worker offers counseling and suggests resources regarding community services
- Hospice Aides provide personal care of bathing, grooming and activities of daily living, as needed
- Chaplain is available for patient and family spiritual support as well as bereavement counseling
- Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services can be arranged as needed
- Nutritional counseling
- Trained Volunteers offer personal companionship and respite for the caregiver
We also offer in-patient care in a skilled nursing facility as needed for pain control or symptom management, respite for family or caregivers and in-home continuous care as needed for crisis situations.
